UAE: Temporary ban on some vehicles from entering Abu Dhabi Island

Abu Dhabi's transport authority has announced a temporary ban on heavy vehicles and workers buses from entering Abu Dhabi Island, the Integrated Transport Centre announced on Wednesday.

These vehicles have been prohibited from entering the aforementioned area from Thursday, May 15, at 12pm until Friday, May 16, 2pm.

The ban comes as the city prepares to welcome US President Donald Trump who is currently on a 'historic' Middle East tour, the first during his second presidency.

US President Donald Trump arrived in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday on the first international tour of his second term as the American president.

After arriving in Riyadh on Tuesday, Trump will make stops at Qatar and the UAE. Trump's itinerary includes Riyadh, Doha, and Abu Dhabi.
