Parkin Company, Dubai’s largest paid public parking provider, plans to install 1,000 smart cameras in strategic locations to manage parking space availability, a senior official said.
“As the exclusive public parking operator in Dubai, our direction is to enhance customer experience through operations, fares and payment solutions. We are investing more in technologies and smart solutions. New smart cameras will be deployed shortly for the first time for on-street parking.
We plan to deploy around 1,000 solar-powered smart cameras in on-street parking areas in the first phase. They can be deployed around the Dubai World Trade Centre during mega events to control and monitor the availability of parking,” said Eng. Mohamed Abdulla Al Ali, CEO of Parkin.

In an interview with Khaleej Times, he said the smart cameras will inform customers about available parking before they enter event areas.
“This will give us information about the utilisation of parking spaces through live camera feeds, both video and images. This will be linked to our smart inspection operations room.”
He added that parking is part of the infrastructure development and helps solve traffic issues.
EV chargers, self-driving cars and flying taxis
Moreover, he added that Parkin aims to provide around 200 electric vehicle (EV) chargers in on-street parking spaces across Dubai by the end of 2026. It has received approvals for close to 50 chargers.
In October 2025, Parkin signed an agreement with the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) to install 100 EV chargers in the first phase in key locations across the city.
With regard to autonomous vehicles, Parkin CEO said they’re in discussions with the RTA and the operators to understand the technical requirements.
“You need to have certain zones for autonomous cars. They need to be parked in a designated area to ensure safe mobility. We have discussed the locations and the requirements that we can provide to support the new mode of mobility,” he said.
Dubai plans to roll out the long-awaited self-driving taxis in March 2026.
He elaborated that Parkin is working closely with advanced air mobility solution providers as well to integrate its massive parking infrastructure with them to facilitate the user journey.
