Dubai's BurJuman Mall to introduce ticketless paid parking system
The new system will rely on Automatic Number Plate Recognition cameras to capture vehicle license plate numbers and calculate parking fees

BurJuman, one of Dubai’s oldest and most iconic malls, will roll out a ticketless paid parking system soon, Khaleej Times has learnt.
This move follows the recent introduction of ticketless and barrierless paid parking at Mall of the Emirates and Deira City Centre. Dubai Mall also implemented the same system in July last year.

Although BurJuman has long charged for parking, the new system will eliminate the need for physical tickets. However, parking barriers will still remain in place. Motorists, however, will no longer have to stop as the bars will raise automatically to let visitors go straight to the parking areas.

The new system will rely on Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras to capture vehicle license plate numbers and calculate parking fees.
While no exact date was specified for when the ticketless parking will start, the announcement of this smart parking solution was made on the mall’s website. In addition to the new parking system, the mall will also roll out a ‘Find My Car’ service and other upgrades to improve parking area navigation.
No parking fee increase
Parking rates will remain unchanged. Visitors will still enjoy the first three hours for free, with each additional hour or part thereof costing Dh20.
Parking is also free on Sundays and public holidays. Moviegoers will receive an additional three hours of free parking. However, overnight parking is not allowed, and violating vehicles will be charged Dh250/day.
BurJuman Mall is part of the Saif Al Ghurair Real Estate Group. It opened its doors in 1991. Currently, the mall is spread across 286,417sqm and hosts a variety of local and international retailers. It also has a cinema and family entertainment centre. There is a hypermarket and a host of restaurants, aside from more than 100 stores.
The Dubai Metro station connected to the mall is the busiest in the city. BurJuman station, located between Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Street and Khalid bin Al Waleed Road in Bur Dubai, received about 7.8 million passengers from January to June last year.
