Dubai: Road closures announced for Al Salam Cycling Championship on January 18

Motorists are advised to plan their journeys in advance, use alternative routes where possible, and allow extra travel time to avoid delays

Several roads in Dubai will be temporarily closed as The Rulers of Dubai Court Race takes place on Sunday (January 18), Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced.

According to RTA, roads affected include Jumeira Street, Al Wasl Road, Al Meydan Road, Al Mina Street, Al Arouba Street, Al Hadiqa Road, Expo Road, Al Qudra Road, Al Manam Street, Lehbab Road, and Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street.

Road closures will be in place around 10 minutes before the race; it will be lifted once the race is completed and after cyclists cleared the route.

The race, which forms part of the 10th edition of the Al Salam Cycling Championship, will start at 12.45pm and run for approximately four hours. It will start from the Ruler's Court in Al Fahidi and conclude the cycling track in Al Marmoom.

The RTA also urged road users to follow official traffic updates during the event.
