Dubai: Motorist speeding at over 300kmph arrested for dangerous driving

Dubai Police have arrested a young motorist for driving at an extreme speed of 304 kmph, endangering his life and putting the safety of others at risk.

A video of the incident shows the driver recklessly manoeuvring between cars and trucks, further endangering road users. The driver is also seen dangerously weaving through traffic and even using the hard shoulder, which is reserved for emergencies.

Under Decree No. (30) of 2023 on vehicle impoundment, violators face strict penalties, with fines of up to Dh50,000 required to release an impounded vehicle.

Authorities confirmed that such actions pose a serious threat to public safety.

Dubai Police continue to emphasise the importance of responsible driving and have urged motorists to adhere to speed limits to ensure road safety.
