Dubai's BurJuman Mall new paid parking system: Free hours, fine, other penalties explained

The move follows the introduction early this year of ticketless and barrierless paid parking at Mall of the Emirates and Deira City Centre

The ticketless paid parking system at BurJuman Mall is now operational, joining other major shopping destinations in Dubai that have adopted the advanced parking solution. Along with the technology upgrade, there have been a few updates to the parking regulations.

While the system has upgraded, the parking fees remain the same. Visitors can park for free for the first three hours, after which an hourly fee of Dh20 will apply for any additional time, or part thereof. Parking continues to be free on Sundays and public holidays.

Khaleej Times first reported about the ticketless parking system at BurJuman Mall in February. The move follows the introduction early this year of ticketless and barrierless paid parking at Mall of the Emirates and Deira City Centre. Dubai Mall implemented the same system in July last year.

How the new system works

BurJuman, one of Dubai’s oldest and most iconic malls, has long been implementing paid parking. The new system eliminates the need for physical tickets. Although the barriers remain, they will now lift automatically, allowing vehicles to proceed directly to parking spaces.

This is made possible through Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras, which capture vehicle license plate numbers and calculate parking fees.

Customers are also reminded to validate their vehicle through available payment machines as the system does not provide alerts for payment reminders

Here are the parking updates and regulations at BurJuman Mall:

  • Parking is free for the first 3 hours

  • Each additional hour or part thereof will be charged at Dh20/hour

  • Vehicle validation shall be done at payment machines through cash/card/online payment
