Dubai's Road and Transport Authority has built a new 8-kilometre alternative road leading to tourist camps in Al Awir for the convenience of travellers.

The road has been built to ensure smooth and easy travel to and from the camps, and in response to the needs of the area's residents.

The new road will separate tourist vehicle movement from the residential area. It enhances traffic safety while maintaining the privacy of the neighbouring residential area, the RTA said.

It is peak camping season in the UAE as temperatures continue to drop. Tourists and residents make the most of UAE winter by setting up tents at one of the popular camping spots in Dubai.

Dubai's camping season lasts from October until April. For tourists, this is the best time to step out of the air-conditioned malls, go beyond the glitz and glam of Dubai and experience the raw, ruggedness of the UAE's vast outdoors.
