Classic vehicles in Sharjah to get new licence plates starting February 16

Sharjah Police have announced that old licence plates for classic vehicles will be replaced with the new category starting Monday, February 16, 2026, at certain designated locations in the emirate.

The new category of licence plates for classic vehicles and motorbikes was announced on December 23, 2025. These plates include the First Category and private plates for classic vehicles, as well as the First Category for motorcycles.

The police said that the replacement process will take place at the following locations:

• Sharjah Registration Village

• Sharjah Classic Car Club

• Khor Fakkan Registration Village

Residents were able to buy these plates in a sale in cooperation with Emirates Auction. Multiple options were on offer.

The new category of licence plates have been introduced to provide high-quality and distinctive services to owners of classic vehicles and motorcycles.
