According to the Abu Dhabi Mobility website, there are 6,390 taxis plying in the capital

The UAE has always maintained very high standards when it comes to public transport, especially taxis.
And regular checks and inspections are carried in different emirates for safety, hygiene, cleanliness and other standard operating procedures.
As a part of that, authorities in Abu Dhabi, the country's capital launched an inspection campaign of taxis to see whether they meet the required standards.

Abu Dhabi Mobility launched the campaign to enhance the quality of transport services across the emirate.
The campaign focuses on checking the cleanliness of vehicles and ensuring compliance with safety standards and operational requirements with the goal of improving service quality and providing a safe transport environment.

The field inspections are aimed at making sure every ride in the capital is clean, safe, and up to standard.
According to the Abu Dhabi Mobility website, there are 6,390 taxis plying in the capital with 222 taxis serving Abu Dhabi International Airport.
In November 2024, Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority launched a pilot project to use artificial intelligence (AI) to detect smoking inside taxis.
