Abu Dhabi: Get up to 35% discount on traffic fines; here's how

Motorists in Abu Dhabi will get up to 35 per cent discount if the fine is paid early. Under this initiative, the amount of discount is dependent on the time of payment:

If the fine is paid within the first 60 days of committing the violation, the road user can avail a 35 per cent discount. However, this does not apply to severe violations.

If the fine is paid after 60 days, but within one year of committing the violation, the road user can avail a 25 per cent discount.

The 'Pay early, gain surely' initiative seeks to help avoid the accumulation of fines, and limit financial burden.

Last year, Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority rolled out an instalment scheme, which helps users pay fines and service fees in instalments, to ensure that payments remain accessible to all.

The authority entered into a tie-up with shopping and financial services app Tabby to arrange the instalment facility for customers.
