Sharjah authorities have warned motorists to respect traffic signals, as they released a video of a vehicle crash.
The collision occurred when a pickup truck jumped the red light, making its way into the road, even as traffic continued to flow from the other side.

Jumping a red light can lead to a penalty of Dh1,000, along with 12 traffic points, and 30-day vehicle impoundment.
From March 2025, the UAE's tightened traffic laws came into effect, which introduced stricter penalties for various offences.
Under the new law, if jumping a red light causes death of a person, it can result in imprisonment for no less than one year and a fine of no less than Dh100,000, or one of these two penalties.
