Fujairah police seize 173 motorcycles for traffic violations, causing noise

The move comes as part of sustained efforts to ensure road safety and maintain public order in the emirate

Over 100 motorcycles were seized in Fujairah on Thursday amid recent intensified traffic campaigns against traffic violatiors in the emirate, as part of sustained efforts to ensure road safety and maintain public order.
The General Command of Fujairah Police said that the 173 motorcylces were also confiscated after the riders committed traffic violations, in addition to causing excessive noise and disturbing sounds.
"These actions contributed to disturbing public comfort and disrupting the tranquility of citizens and residents," the authority stated in a statement.

In another emirate, Sharjah, 12 vehicles and 30 motorcycles were seized on March 19 for reckless driving and causing noise, disturbing residents in the emirate.
The campaign, which is focused on curbing negative behaviours on the road, also saw the police detect 52 traffic violations. The police said that the drivers of the confiscated vehicles were posing danger to themselves and those around them.
