The Tourist Line of the waterbus, which was launched in December last year, shuttles between Al Seef station and Al Shindaga tunnel. People have to pay Dh25 for a 45-minute tour.

The officials said the extensive campaigns to promote the service was one of the main reasons of its popularity.

“The tourist line has attracted a lot of visitors who get a chance to sail through the Dubai Creek and explore the surroundings,” said an official of the Marine Agency.

Ahmed Al Hammadi, Director of Operation and Performance Department at the Marine Agency, said the agency had succeeded in operating 7,677 trips across the Tourist Line of the waterbus in a record time of 45 days only.

“This is a strong indicator of the standing of marine tourism in the emirate of Dubai through the waterbus,” he said.

Al Hammadi said the Tourist Line provided shuttle service between Al Shindaga station and Al Seef station across Line B5.

The service starts at 8am and ends at 11pm on all seven days a week, at a rate of 32 trips per day. It accommodates 36 passengers per trip.

He added that the approved air-condition system of the waterbus was among the best in use, particularly good for the summer season.
