Three injured in accidents

Three people, including a Pakistani woman, were seriously injured when they were knocked down by vehicles in various parts of the city over the last two days, police sources said yesterday.

The woman was hit on the Shaikh Rashid road. Police investigations showed that the woman was crossing the road near a shopping mall in the area when a car hit her. Police blamed the accident on the reckless driver. She was taken to hospital for treatment.

In another accident, an unidentified man was hit by a forklift at a port as the machinery was reversing.

The injured man was taking a rest from work. He sustained multiple injuries and was taken to Rashid Hospital where he is undergoing treatment. On Al Mankhool road in Bur Dubai, a pedestrian was hit by a car as he was trying to cross the road.

Police said the driver of the vehicle was inattentive as the man tried to cross the road near Al Khaleej centre. The injured man was taken to hospital in a police ambulance.
