In a bid to market distinguished car plate numbers in the emirate, Sharjah Police have signed a mutual agreement with Emirates Auction to sell the third category of plate numbers. The first auction for the third category numbers was expected to be held on June 4 at the Jawaher Hall in Sharjah . The mutual agreement was singed by Sharjah Police Chief Brigadier Saif Al Zarri Al Shamsi and Abdallah Matar Al Manai, chairman of Emirates Auction.
The agreement stipulates that Emirates Auction is the exclusive agent to market and sell the distinguished numbers through online auctions or auctions held at special halls, including odd, even and three number and four numbers plate numbers.
Brigadier Al Zarri noted that this step comes in implementation of a decision taken by the executive council headed by Shaikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qassimi, Crown Prince of Sharjah and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah who approved a proposal made by Sharjah Police to sell the disfigured numbers in auction. Abdallah Al Manai said that they will spare no effort in implementing the agreement.
