A foreign teacher has gone on trial in UAE on charges of thrashing a student of determination in school.
A foreign teacher appeared at the Fujairah Misdemeanour Court on charges of beating up a determined student (with special needs).

According to court records, the case came to light when two students got into a fight at the school - including the determined student .

The teacher intervened to break up the first using a stick, but unintentionally injured the determined student.

The teacher has denied the charges.

"I did not admit to any crime before the prosecution," he said, asking the court to allow him to check the forensic report that suggested that he beat up the student.

"I treat all students equally - in a fair and good manner," he added, requesting the court to clear him of the charges.

The court adjourned the case for the defence lawyer to copy the case file, and prepare an appeal.
