The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) has announced its full readiness for the Umrah season during the holy month of Ramadan while assuring it was committed to the comfort and safety of its citizens during their pilgrimage.

The ministry said it has adopted an integrated plan to ensure maximum support to citizens during the Umrah season, through its advanced digital services available on the website, www.mofa.gov.ae, and the smart application, UAEMOFA, which will help citizens complete their transactions easily.

The website and application will also provide immediate response to any emergency situation that travellers may face while abroad.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also called on the citizens to follow necessary preventive measures before traveling, including taking the seasonal influenza vaccination in accordance with the requirements of the Ministry of Health and Community Protection, and keeping electronic copies of identification documents such as passports and IDs to ensure easy access to them.

It also urged the citizens to review the “Pilgrim’s Guide” on the travel guidelines page according to each destination, available on the Ministry’s website or smart application, to ensure a safe and smooth travel experience.

The Ministry also stressed the importance of keeping the emergency number for Emirati travellers — 0097180024 — which operates round the clock for immediate support.

As part of its efforts to enhance the services provided to senior citizens and people of determination, the Ministry has enabled their family members to register in the “Tawajudi” service through its website, smart application, or WhatsApp, so as to enable support teams to follow up on their affairs and provide necessary assistance while they are outside the country.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also reiterated that support and assistance teams are ready round the clock to answer citizens’ enquiries and provide them assistance through the call centre on 0097180044444.
