Speed limit increased on Mleiha-Faiya road

The Sharjah Police have announced that the speed limit on Mleiha-Faiya Street in the central region of Sharjah would be increased from 80kmph to 100kmph. 
The Department of Traffic and Patrols of the Sharjah Police confirmed on Thursday that the radars on the road have been adjusted to the new speed limit, as part of the comprehensive traffic safety plan adopted by the police. The police have modified both the fixed and mobile radars on the street to the new limits, said a senior police official. 
The Sharjah Police have urged motorists to be vigilant to avoid radar violations and to ensure the safety of other road users, stressing the need for all segments of society to participate in efforts to spread a culture of safe driving. 
Top officials from the police have said that they are studying the need to adjust speed limits on other major road hotspots to ensure safety.
