Dubai - Logo selected for Dh30m worth International Holy Quran Award

A design that reflects history of International Holy Quran Award (DIHQA) has been selected as the logo for its 20th anniversary edition.
The global Quran Award, worth over Dh30 million, is slated during the holy month of Ramadan, from day 1 to 20.
Ibrahim Mohammed Bu Melha, Head of DIHQA Organising Committee and Adviser to the Ruler of Dubai for Cultural and Humanitarian Affairs, said the award, founded and sponsored by His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, will have special events to celebrate its 20th anniversary this Ramadan.
Bu Melha added: "The organising committee will unveil a number of pioneering initiatives in the coming days to commemorate the 20th edition of the annual award themed: '20 years in Quran service',"
"The award, which started with two sections in 1997, has branched out to 13 categories in 2014 and is expected to see the participation of 160 countries over its 20-year history."
The first winner will be awarded Dh250,000 against Dh200,000 for the second, and Dh150,000 for the third, Bu Melha added.
"Prize money for winners from the fourth to the tenth ranges between Dh65,000 - Dh5,000 whereas other participants will be prized a bonus of Dh30,000 each," he said, adding that more details are available on (www.quran.gov.ae).
