His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has ordered the release of 203 inmates of punitive and correctional facilities in Dubai ahead of Eid Al Adha.

Counselor Issam Issa Al Humaidan, Attorney-General of Dubai, said the release order aims to give the pardoned prisoners a chance to start afresh. He said the public prosecution would immediately make all the arrangements to release the inmates so they can return home and spend Eid Al Adha with their families.
Rulers in the UAE order the release of prisoners on special occasions like Eid as part of the country's humanitarian values based on forgiveness and tolerance.
On Friday, the President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, ordered the release of 515 prisoners. His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman, had ordered the release of 62 prisoners.
