Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah, formerly known as the Sharjah Girls Centre, has wrapped up a month-long series of workshops and training sessions designed to hone the talents of young Emirati females to help them contribute in the future to the development and progress of the UAE.
"The September programmes and workshops featured a wide range of workshops, specifically designed to raise the morale of young ladies, help them develop social skills and boost their professional inclinations...in line with the national strategy for the empowerment of Emirati women," said Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah Director Aisha Khalid Al Qasimi.
"Organising these workshops stems from our deep belief in the potential and creative capabilities of our young ladies, and also falls within our strategy aimed at tapping into their potential and directing them towards the right path," she added.
The workshops included artistic disciplines, ranging from drawing, knitting and collage to mobile phone accessory design and pancake making. Additionally, the Sajaya young ladies attended an English course and a French course in collaboration with the Higher Colleges of Technology - Fujairah Colleges.
The young ladies also attended a sports open day organised to encourage healthy living practices, as well as develop a sense of mutual understanding and teamwork among them, as well as a workshop on video game design. They were also taken to create a mural for the Al Hafiya Reserve in Kalba.
