Video of man shooting himself not from UAE: Police

Sharjah Police has issued a statement regarding a video that has gone viral on social media. The clip shows a man accidentally shooting himself in an indoor range. Authorities issued a statement after rumours began to circulate that the accident happened in the UAE.
According to the Sharjah Police, the accident did not happen in the country. There nothing of that sort happened in the shooting ranges or golf clubs in Sharjah, police said.
Pictures and videos being shared on social media have nothing to do with a previous incident, which occurred about seven years ago in the emirate, police said.
The previous accident had resulted in the death of a 32-year-old Danish man who shot himself using a hunting weapon in the golf and shooting club in Sharjah. The man accidentally shot himself, immediately fell to the ground and died on the spot. According to investigations, it was later found that he had committed suicide.
