The Sharjah Police have urged all individuals facing extortion or blackmail, to immediately report such cases.

On its official Instagram account, the department issued instruction on how to deal with blackmailers. It warned people against following the directions of the blackmailers, stressing that blackmailers intend to abuse victims.
The police also warned the victims against paying any money to the blackmailers. It said that in many of the cases, the victims pictures and videos were misused.
The police also explained that such criminal acts are punishable, under UAE's cyber crime laws.
In case a person is being blackmailed he/she should report the case to the Sharjah Police at tech_crimes@shjpolice.gov.ae or 065943228
