Court upholds regulator order for the billionaire to take down posts containing footage of the April 15 stabbing of the Assyrian bishop
Some residents under the group, Sharjah Malayali Koottayma, are collecting relief materials to send them to the victims through their personal contacts. Shabeer, a member of the group, said the group could collect more than 700kg of relief materials and about 200kg of them have already been sent to Kerala through people who volunteered to carry the materials. "In addition to this, many of our members, who are on vacation in Kerala, also are contributing in the relief operations. They have already sent two truck-loads of materials to the needy in Kerala," said Dinil, another member of the group.
"We request those in our contacts to carry some of the materials we received from well-wishers, while going on vacation. Most of them express willingness even by reducing their personal luggage to accommodate the necessary goods we have collected. There are people who carried 20kg of relief materials and delivered them to our group members back home. Still we are getting messages from friends who are willing to carry the materials or contribute to the cause," added Shabeer.
