The Sharjah Center for Astronomy and Space Science has announced the expected date of the beginning of the Islamic new year.
According to the SCASS, astronomically, August 20, 2020 will be the beginning of Muharram - the first day of the 1442 Hijri New Year.
According to a post on the Sharjah News official Instagram account, the center said that Thursday (August 20) will be the beginning of the new Hijri year, which is a public holiday in the UAE.
