The Sharjah Police have arrested a motorist for drifting and performing dangerous stunts on a road that led to a traffic accident. He was arrested within hours after a video of the stunts went viral on social media, the police said.

The police said the video dates back to the second day of Eid Al Fitr (May 25). The suspect has been slapped with charges of driving recklessly on the Madam-Al Shuwaib Road.
Last week, the Abu Dhabi Police had arrested two youths for drifting and performing stunts on a rain-drenched road.
The police had warned then that reckless drivers could be slapped with fines of up to Dh2,000 and 23 black points. Offenders could also have their vehicle impounded for up to 60 days.
