Dh28 million roads completed in Sharjah
The two-lane roads are 7.3 metres wide, excluding the shoulder area.
An 8.2km road project worth Dh28 million has been completed in Sharjah's Central Region, the Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) has announced.
The project has been designed to improve mobility in the region's industrial zones, particularly in the areas of Al Batayeh, Al Dhaid, Al Madam, and Mleiha.
Fatima Al Kitbi, director of road projects department, said it was part of a series of SRTA initiatives that are aimed at upgrading the emirate's infrastructure and boosting economic development.
The official said the two-lane roads are 7.3 metres wide, excluding the shoulder area. She said the Central Region is witnessing a development boom, thanks to the focus and support from His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
"Several plans have been put in place to develop roads," Al Kitbi added.
