Following complaints from residents about massive traffic jams that continue through the day, a top Sharjah Police officer has announced that he will find an "effective solution" to the issue.
Brigadier Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, General Commander of the Sharjah Police, said the police have studied the traffic situation on all the roads, including Emirates Road, Ring Road and Al Wahda Street and have looked into the causes that lead to traffic jams, especially during peak hours.
He added that the police are making great efforts in coordinating with the departments concerned to study the issue and to find alternative solutions. "We need to focus on roads leading to school areas to ensure that students reach their classes on time," he said.
Speaking to Khaleej Time, he said the police are aware of the issues that affect residents of Sharjah and other emirates who use Sharjah roads.
