Sharjah Ruler approves jobs for 1,000, interviews to start on January 5

This is part of Sheikh's Sultan ongoing commitment to supporting local talent and empowering them to contribute meaningfully to the community

Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has given the green light for the recruitment of 1,000 citizens in the Sharjah government by 2026.

This is according to Abdullah Ibrahim Al Zaabi, the Head of the Sharjah Department of Human Resources, as Sheikh Sultan announced in an interview broadcast on “Direct Line” of Sharjah Television and Radio.

Job interviews are going to kick off on Monday, January 5, 2026.

This move reflects his continued commitment to supporting Emirati talent and helping them play an active role in Sharjah’s ongoing development, while also strengthening government performance by attracting and training skilled Emiratis across different departments.

In August 2025, the Sharjah Ruler also approved the employment of 700 job seekers in various government agencies. These job seekers, who have not previously worked or received employment opportunities, are from the Sharjah Rehabilitation and Training Programme.

In addition, 1,523 male and female employees were promoted in the Sharjah government. These included job promotions for 1,222 employees, financial promotions for 264 employees, and exceptional financial promotions for 37 employees, at a cost of Dh22 million.
