The Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) has repainted over 60km of main roads in the Sharjah city in the last three months.
Sulaiman Al Hajiri, director of SRTA for road affairs, said the authority has repainted the Jamal Abdulnasser road. "All the speed humps on the arterial road have been repainted as well." The Shukri Al Asali road in Al Majaz - 2, as well as the Khan road, which extends from Al Intifada intersection road to Al Burj roundabout, have been repainted, he added.
"The Shaikh Khalid bin Mohammed Al Qasimi road, extending from Ajman to the Shaikh Mohammed bin Saqr Al Qasimi road at Al Riqa/Al Hazna area, has been repainted as well, and the humps there have been also repainted."
Al Hajiri said Al Dhaid road was repainted earlier this week. "All the roundabouts on the road have been repainted too."
All the maintenance and repainting works are being carried out as per schedule, he underlined. "The SRTA is conducting surveys on all the roads of the emirate on a regular basis to carry out the necessary maintenance."
Al Hajiri said all road and transport projects are designed to accommodate current and future needs of urban expansion in the emirate, enhance traffic flow and raise the standard of living of residents.
