Sharjah has approved a licensing mechanism for beekeepers and site usage, aimed at regulating beekeeping activities.
The new mechanism seeks to:
Support and empower beekeepers to obtain licences
Help beekeepers benefit from government and financing programmes
Protect local bee species from diseases and pests
Enhance food security through high-quality local production
Reduce violations and irregular practices

The new regulation came during a meeting of the Sharjah Executive Council. They also reviewed the strategic pillars for developing the organic honey sector in Sharjah.
During the meeting, the council also reviewed a report which recognised Sharjah government employees who graduated from the Artificial Intelligence Academy.
