Sharjah approves beekeeping licensing mechanism to protect local species, reduce violations

The new mechanism also seeks to enhance food security, and help beekeepers benefit from government and financing programmes

Sharjah has approved a licensing mechanism for beekeepers and site usage, aimed at regulating beekeeping activities.

The new mechanism seeks to:

  • Support and empower beekeepers to obtain licences

  • Help beekeepers benefit from government and financing programmes

  • Protect local bee species from diseases and pests

  • Enhance food security through high-quality local production

  • Reduce violations and irregular practices

The new regulation came during a meeting of the Sharjah Executive Council. They also reviewed the strategic pillars for developing the organic honey sector in Sharjah.

During the meeting, the council also reviewed a report which recognised Sharjah government employees who graduated from the Artificial Intelligence Academy.
