Shaikh Mohammed’s Vision Hailed
Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, UAE Minister of Economy paid tributes to His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai on the anniversary of his accession as Ruler of Dubai.

In a statement made to mark the occasion, Mansouri congratulated Shaikh Mohammed and described him as a persistent and visionary leader who was able to enhance the competitive edge of the UAE economy.
“Thanks to the wise policies of the country's leadership, the Gross Domestic Product of the UAE surged from Dh6.5 billion in 1971 to Dh929.4 billion in 2008, nearly a 114 fold increase,” he said.
In his statement, Dr Rashid Ahmed bin Fahd, Minister of Environment and Water hailed Shaikh Mohammed's initiatives of introducing new concepts for performance and capacity building.
He said Shaikh Mohammed had worked hard on restructuring federal entities in accordance with the highest standards of performance and excellence.
Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) said, “Shaikh Mohammed has taught us that ambition has no limits and that the word 'impossible' is not in our dictionary.”
He added that under the leadership of Shaikh Mohammed, Dubai unveiled important projects in 2009 including the Dubai Metro, Burj Dubai, roads and infrastructure developments and many more.
Ahmed Obaid Al Mansouri, Director General of the 'Watani' Programme, said Shaikh Mohammed had always focused on developing capabilities of UAE citizens as a key component in the drive for comprehensive development.
