Salma meals reach over 110,00 in conflict zones

In a big humanitarian gesture, Dubai's Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation distributed over 110,000 Salma meal packs in conflict zones recently.

Tayeb Al Rais, Secretary-General of AMAF, disclosed the details at the 13th Dubai International Humanitarian Aid & Development Conference & Exhibition on Monday. Speaking to Khaleej Times, Al Rais said the distribution of meal in coordination with international agencies, included more than 70,000 meal packs contributedto people of Socotra in Yemen.
"Besides, over 41,000 meals were given to West African countries, including Togo, Niger and Burkina Faso, in partnership with the UN World Food Programme (WFP)." Abdullah Al Wardat, Director, WFP Office UAE and GCC Countries, said the AMAF's Salma initiative has efficiently supported international relief efforts.
