Round-the-clock food surveillance during Eid days in Dubai

Dubai - Food inspectors will work round the clock when Eid revellers will be savouring the vast varieties of cuisines in Dubai.

The Food Control Department of the Dubai Municipality has announced that the department will "remain awake" during Eid holidays, keeping in line with the "Dubai-the city that doesn't sleep" initiative which was launched to provide entertainment, tourist and commercial services continually to Emiratis, expatriate residents and visitors even during official holidays.
Sultan Ali Al Taher, the head of the Food inspection Section said the section had made all the arrangements ready before the advent of Eid Al Fitr, and will focus on restaurants, markets and shopping malls which often see a large number of customers and visitors.
He said all preparations were being made before Eid Al Fitr. In a bid to preserve public hygiene and safety of the consumers, and ensure the safety of foods, especially of those in local and Arab confectioneries , toasters, bakeries and fruit and vegetable markets.
Al Taher appealed to the public to contact the call centre of the Dubai Municipality by dialing 800900, which works round the clock , in case of inquiries on health conditions or remarks or complaints against food outlets.
