It has urged the residents of all areas in the municipality to dial emergency number 993 for reporting water accumulation or consequent losses or traffic block during rains.

Emergency teams stand ready 24/7 to respond to the calls while continuing efforts to survey the sites affected by rainwater.

Last week, a campaign was organised in Bani Yas East 8 to clear water accumulated in certain spots.

Bani Yas East, like in other districts, is connected to an advanced storm water drain network supported by about 14,000 drainage chambers and six tanks always kept ready to pump out accumulated water, in addition to 20 multi-sized pumps for pumping the water from the inspection chambers to the drainage. Besides, more tankers and pumps are deployed if needed.

Following completion of its jobs in Bani Yas East last week, the emergency teams reviewed the readiness and conducted surveys in Bani Yas West including Al Mafraq interchanges, Al Nahda Tunnel and Al Shawamekh 3.

The teams are at work in Bani Yas East 1 and East 2 and all other districts to ensure readiness for coping with any faults, and removing any accumulation of wastes or water during or after rainfall. - qudoos@khaleejtimes.com
