Video: First-graders 'interview' Ras Al Khaimah Ruler via video call

Ras Al Khaimah - Towards the end of every school year, the Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah meets Grade 1 students.

His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, recently met a number of virtual visitors - and they were adorable. All wide-eyed and curious, the first-graders of Ras Al Khaimah Academy made every second of their video conference with the Ruler count by asking him their 'big' questions. 
"Do you ever get bored in being the Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah?" a little girl asked. "What was your favourite subject in school?" another wondered. 
In a video shared by the Ras Al Khaimah Media Office, Sheikh Saud can be seen happily answering his young interviewees' questions. 
"I never actually get bored," he told the girl, explaining that he has to do different things as part of the job.  And as for his favourite subject, the RAK Ruler said, "Physics and math were my love."
Towards the end of every school year, Sheikh Saud finds time to interact with Grade 1 students of the academy. But as education went online amid the pandemic, the annual meet-and-greet was held virtually. 
"Today, I had the pleasure of talking to them remotely. During our conversation, I sensed their spontaneity, their great passion for learning and their infinite curiosity. We must all dedicate ourselves to providing our children with the love and support they need to prosper," the RAK Ruler said.
"I have confidence in our youth to continue the legacy of our Founding Father, Sheikh Zayed, may God bless him, in building a country that plays its part in creating a better future for humanity."
