Emirati teenager Ahmad rescued his younger brother Saeed from the after-effects of a poisonous snake bite while strolling in the Ghilan area, north of Ras Al Khaimah.
Ali S, father of the two siblings, said they were walking home when Saeed felt a sudden pain in his leg. "He thought it was an insect bite, but then he found a snake creeping away."
Sixteen-year-old Ahmad immediately tied his brother's leg from above his knee to prevent the poison from spreading. "He then tried to pull out the poisoned blood until the ambulance arrived and rushed Saeed to the hospital."
The medical team said that Saeed's condition is fine and stable, noting that the first aid administered by Ahmad rescued his life.
