A Grade 5 girl student donned the police uniform, took a ride in a police patrol and distributed UAE flags to the drivers and passers-by, thanks to the Ras Al Khaimah Police.

When the police came to know about 11-year-old Raghad Hussain Hamza's dream to become a cop for a day, they swung into action. "All arrangements were made to make her dream turn into reality, said Brigadier Mohammed Saeed Al Humaidi, director general of the central operations room, RAK police. "The RAK Police, in collaboration with the Al Nasr Private School, approached Hamza, an Arab student, to fulfill her wish."

A visibly elated Hamza said that she could not believe it until she got in the traffic patrol vehicle.

"To wear the police uniform, even for one day, is something remarkable that does not happen every day."

"I am so proud to mark the 48th UAE National Day celebrations in a different way," she said, praising the RAK Police for their initiative.

The move, in line with the Year of Tolerance, is meant to boost communication with the public and promote the culture of tolerance among people of all genders, ages, and nationalities, Al Humaidi underlined.
