Four Emirati boys had a narrow escape from drowning after an alert fisherman and a woman noticed them at the Khor Al Rams coast, 12-km north of Ras Al Khaimah city.
The woman saw the boys struggling for their life while she was at the balcony of her house overlooking the beach at around 12 noon.
Luckily, the boys were also seen by a fisherman - a relative of the woman, while returning home from a fishing trip.
The fisherman immediately changed his route and rushed to the drowning kids aged between 11 to 14, and saved their life.
"This was actually my first rescue mission," the fisherman Jassim Rajab said. "I was close to the site, and headed directly to them before the water reached their mouths."
Amena Mohamad, the Emirati woman who saw the kids, reported the incident to the police.
"I saw the kids struggling for their life in the beach, and alerted the police all at once."
Brigadier Mohamed Al Zaabi, director general of the RAK civil defence department, honoured Jassim Rajab for his rescue mission.
"Kids are advised to avoid the sea when it is rough."
