A 22-year-old Asian expat was killed after the motorbike he was riding crashed into an SUV in Ras Al Khaimah late Monday night, police said.
Brigadier Ahmad Al Sam Al Naqbi, director of Traffic and Patrols Department of the RAK Police, said the accident happened on Filya road and was reported at 11.48pm.
The SUV was being driven by a 25-year-old Arab driver. "A traffic patrol, an ambulance and rescue teams were dispatched to the site, but the motorbiker was critically injured. He died on the spot," Brig Al Naqbi said. An accident filed was referred to the authorities concerned for legal action.
"Motorists are all urged to drive safely and make sure the road is clear before entering the main highway," the officer added.
