Strict measures and traffic penalties have reduced road accident mortality rates, according to Brigadier-General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Director-General of the Dubai Police traffic department.
He reviewed the new traffic law and the latest developments to curb traffic violations during a Ramadan Majlis hosted for the Dubai traffic department officials.
Major-General Mohammed Saif Al Zafin, assistant commander-in-chief of the Dubai Police, Colonel Jamal Mohammed Al Bannai, deputy director of general department of traffic and a number of other senior officials also attended the majlis.
Marwan Al Hall, who chaired the media session, praised the role of Dubai Police in all fields. He said that the Ramadan majlis have become small parliaments that give proposals to meet the demands of the public.
The majlis highlighted the efforts made by the general directorate of traffic to achieve safety on the roads and highlight the role of the police in reducing traffic accidents. It also reviewed the smart traffic services offered by the police. Khalifa Al Naboodah, who hosted the event, thanked the traffic department for organising the majlis at his house.
