Corporal Ahmed Ali Al Baloushi of the Ras Al Khaimah Police has been honoured with the Medal of Job Excellence for his bravery and swift response during a tragic shooting incident that claimed three lives.
Corporal Al Baloushi was the first responder at the scene.

Tragic incident
Corporal Al Baloushi’s recognition comes in the wake of a tragic and shocking incident in Ras Al Khaimah, where three women a mother and her two daughters lost their lives in a fatal shooting following a traffic-related dispute.
According to a report by Emarat Al Youm, the altercation began when a vehicle was attempting to pass through a narrow street and a disagreement broke out between the suspect and the victims. The situation quickly escalated, and the suspect allegedly drew a firearm and opened fire on the women.
The victims aged 35, 38, and 66 were rushed to the hospital but later succumbed to their injuries. A fourth sister, 47, was also injured but survived.
Despite her injuries, she managed to hand her phone to her 11-year-old son and urged him to run and call for help. Her quick thinking played a vital role in alerting the authorities, leading to the suspect's swift arrest.
A fifth woman, the youngest sister aged 30, was unharmed in the attack.
The Ras Al Khaimah Police confirmed that the suspect was apprehended shortly after the incident, the weapon used in the attack was seized, and the case has been referred to the Public Prosecution for further legal proceedings.
Maher Salem Wafai, the brother of the deceased women and son of the elderly victim, recounted the horrifying details to Emarat Al Youm, expressing shock and grief over the loss of his family members in what began as a simple parking dispute.
