UAE President, Dubai Ruler mark 'spirit of unity, resolve' on Day of Solidarity

UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan shared a message as the nation marks Day of Solidarity on January 17.

"We are reminded of the UAE’s enduring resilience and the courage and determination of its people," he said.

The spirit of "unity and resolve empowers the nation to overcome challenges, embrace opportunities, and continue working towards a more stable and prosperous future for all," he added.

On January 17 every year, "our pledge and promise to protect our homeland; and the cohesion, unity, and solidarity of our people is renewed," said Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of UAE, and Ruler of Dubai.

He added that the day marks a renewal of "certainty in the strength, power, and steadfastness of our developmental path" along with "determination to achieve the aspirations of our people, the prosperity of our country, the stability of our region, and the world".

The country is marking the fourth anniversary of the 2022 Houthi attack on civilian infrastructure in Abu Dhabi. Three were killed and six injured as three petroleum tankers exploded after strikes on Musaffah ICAD 3 area and a construction site at Abu Dhabi International Airport.

An aerial convoy, set to start from Abu Dhabi, will fly over all emirates as the nation remembers this solemn day. Various types of helicopters and jet aircraft are participating in this parade, organised by UAE Armed Forces and the "Emirates Knights Air Show" team.
