Plea to raise awareness on best use of PCs for police

ABU DHABI - Brigadier Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Director-General of the Central Operations, Abu Dhabi Police, has stressed on the need to enhance awareness on the best use of computers for the emirate's law enforcement agencies.

Al Raisi said the law enforcement agencies had been provided with the latest software techniques to protect their PCs from viruses.

He was speaking at a lecture held at the Criminal Evidences Hall here recently. The lecture was organised as part of a series of lectures being organised for police staff. On the occasion, visiting international security expert Lance Spetzner delivered a talk on the security of information and the challenges.

Spetzner talked about the concepts of IT security and the risks posed by hackers. He cautioned Internet users against dealing with suspicious websites, and asked them not to disclose their personal details.
