Parking fees to increase in Sharjah? Municipality clarifies

The Sharjah Municipality denied any increase in the parking charges in the emirate. 
The Municipality issued the clarification following the rumours that parking charges are set to increase in Sharjah, Al Ittihad newspaper reported on Wednesday.
4,500 new paid parking spaces will be open to motorists in Al Nahda area in 2019. The cost for public parking space in Sharjah remains at Dh2 for an hour. Dh5 for two hours and Dh8 for 3 hours. 
Additionally, the report added that the municipality is working to find new and better solutions for parking systems in Sharjah.   
Recently, Sharjah municipality rolled out the new feature giving motorists the option of booking a parking space for more than one hour via SMS for both Etisalat and du customers.
