Pakistani nationals have played a highly valued role in the development and progress of the UAE over the past 50 years, Pakistani officials said on Sunday.

“For more than five decades, the Pakistani community in the UAE has played an exemplary and highly valued role in the remarkable development and progress of this great nation. I wish to convey my profound gratitude to the wise leadership and the gracious people of the UAE for their unwavering support and generous hospitality extended to our hardworking and dynamic diaspora,” said Shafqat Ali Khan, Pakistan’s ambassador in the UAE.

The comments were made on the occasion of Pakistan Day, marked on March 23, 2026, with flag-hoisting ceremonies at the embassy in Abu Dhabi and the consulate in Dubai.

“I take this opportunity to reiterate our solidarity with the government and the people of the UAE, and pray for the region’s continued stability, peace, and prosperity. Let us continue to uphold the noble values of honesty, integrity, and diligence in all our pursuits, thereby making meaningful and positive contributions to the prosperity of the UAE and to the shared journey of growth and advancement between our two nations. In doing so, we shall further reinforce the deep bonds of brotherhood, mutual respect, and fraternal cooperation that so strongly unite our brotherly countries,” Khan said.

In a message delivered on the occasion of Pakistan Day, Hussain Muhammad, consul general of Pakistan in Dubai, paid tribute to Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Allama Muhammad Iqbal, and the forefathers whose vision, unwavering determination, and sacrifices made Pakistan a reality.

He added that the Pakistani community in Dubai and the Northern Emirates has earned a strong reputation for its hard work and valuable contributions to the development of the UAE.

“I take this opportunity to express sincere appreciation to the leadership of the UAE for their continued support and for providing opportunities that enable our community to thrive and prosper. Let us reaffirm our commitment to the values of integrity, dedication, and mutual respect, and continue to play our part in further strengthening the close and enduring ties between Pakistan and the UAE. Through our collective efforts, we can contribute to the prosperity of both nations and bring pride to our homeland,” Muhammad said.
