The world is in the last week of 2020, and Dubai is all set to welcome the new year 2021 in style. With the Burj Khalifa all decked up to set off its stunning New Year’s Eve (NYE) fireworks and laser show at the stroke of midnight, Emaar, its master developer, has explained how residents can be part of the celebrations.
“The public viewing area is the Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard, where social distancing rules will apply. Restaurants and hotels on the Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard, Souk Al Bahar, Dubai Opera and The Dubai Mall Promenade are available for dining reservations,” Emaar said.
Access to Downtown Dubai for all residents and visitors will be through a pre-registration process on the ‘U By Emaar’ app.
“Guests, including Emaar Boulevard residents and hotel guests, simply log on to the U By Emaar app and follow the straightforward steps for access to all locations in Downtown Dubai. After successfully registering, guests will receive individual QR codes that will be used to gain access to Downtown Dubai on NYE,” said Emaar.

All restaurant reservations for F&B venues need to be done via the app, too. “Those who already have restaurant bookings are required to register on the U By Emaar app.
“Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard will have limited capacity and guests can book on the U By Emaar app for groups of up to 12 people, subject to availability,” the master developer said.

Emaar NYE 2021 will have several health and safety measures in place, including thermal cameras, social distancing, contactless payments and frequent deep cleaning and disinfection, in line with Dubai Government guidelines and directives.
Emaar NYE 2021 will be broadcast live globally and live-streamed from 8.30pm (UAE time) on mydubainewyear.com.
