Dubai’s Event Security Committee has urged residents and visitors planning to attend New Year’s Eve celebrations to follow safety instructions and arrive early, as festivities take place across 40 locations in the emirate.

The committee said all preparations are complete to secure the New Year celebrations, with more than 55 government, semi government and private entities involved in crowd management, traffic control and emergency response.

Members of the public have been advised to comply with directions issued by police officers and field teams on the ground, and to monitor official updates on road closures and transport changes issued by Dubai Police and the Roads and Transport Authority.

Authorities are encouraging revellers to use public transport, including the Dubai Metro, buses and taxis, to ease congestion around major celebration sites. Arriving well ahead of time is also recommended due to expected crowding in popular areas.

Support and assistance tents will be available at key locations throughout the night. These will operate as lost and found points, assist separated family members, and provide support for lost children.

Dubai Police said residents can call 901 for non emergency services and enquiries, while 999 should be used in urgent situations.

For those celebrating at sea, the committee advised boat owners and passengers to register their trips through the Sail Safely service on the Dubai Police smart app. The service allows authorities to quickly locate vessels using the SOS feature in case of an emergency.

Travellers flying on New Year’s Eve were also urged to leave for the airport earlier than usual. Authorities warned that traffic congestion and temporary road closures could affect access to Dubai International Airport and Al Maktoum International Airport, potentially leading to missed flights.

Officials said cooperation from the public will be key to ensuring a safe and smooth start to the New Year across Dubai.
