New Year bash at Global Village

Global Village is geared up for its most spectacular New Year celebrations as part of its 20th anniversary festivities.

UAE residents, especially those from Kerala, can look forward to an unforgettable New Year's Eve with superstars, music, firework displays and spectacular stunt shows. At the main stage, superstar of Malayalam film industry Mammootty is expected to grace the occasion in a two-hour celebration along with some of the best talents in South Indian music and dance.
The show will start at 8pm and last for two hours. Mammootty will be joined by musical talents such as Haricharan, Suchitra and Afzal. Sayanora, an immensely talented playback singer from Kerala and a member of AR Rahman's troupe will also be present. Her track Athiradee from Shivaji sets the stage ablaze at every concert she performs.
Journalist John Brittas is set to host the two-hour show while Hit FM RJ Nyla Usha will also be present taking you through the line-up of events. Dazzling dance performances by Inya and her troupe are set to rock the venue.
That's not all, the large Ferris wheel at the heart of Fantasy Island will have a giant illuminated 10-second countdown to midnight. If you are at the main stage, get prepared for a 60-second countdown to the New Year. At the stroke of midnight, enjoy an amazing display of fireworks launched from several sites to ensure an unforgettable experience.

A new element at this year's edition is the "Jet Ski" show. Skilled artistes will showcase their abilities - seemingly making their jet skis dance - as they race across the water in a striking display of expertise.
Also, a special New Year's Eve parade will move across the venue and finish in front of the main stage - providing you with an opportunity to directly witness the excitement of the procession. A number of highly-skilled international freestyle performers are set to add global flavours to the fanfare. The Global Village mascot, Globo, and the specially choreographed "Fiestaval" show will also entertain. Following Mammootty's show, DJ Nawaf will take to the main stage and sing several pulsating numbers to keep you rocking until midnight.
