The features of the new web site, to be launched by the end of February, was detailed in a meeting the municipality officials held with the shop owners in the Used Car Complex recently.
Attended by 40 shop owners in the Used Car Complex, the meeting was convened by Abdul Rahman Al Jaziri, Director of Markets Department. Khalifa Abdullah Hareb, Head of Markets Section also addressed the meeting, which was aimed at enhancing the used car trade activities in the emirate.
Mr Al Jaziri told the traders that Qassim Sultan, the Director-General of the municipality was keen to develop the complex further by providing more facilities for the customers, as the used car trade is a vital and influential sector.
He said the future plans of the department for the Used Car Complex include addition of more promotional and recreational aspects.
The complex, Mr Al Jaziri said, would be participating in the international car exhibitions starting with the Dubai International Motor Show.
In addition to this, the complex will also take part in different festivals such as the Dubai Shopping Festival and the Dubai Summer Surprises.
The Information Technology Department was represented in the meeting by Hussam Ahmed Hashim, who is the project manager of the web site, Samar Mahmoud Ibrahim, and Mustafa Mohammed Mustafa Nassaar.
Explaining the features of the web site, Hashim said the site will include general information about the complex, its services such as vehicle inspection, registration, banks and finances, provision for publishing advertisements about used cars, a powerful search engine that can search the details of the cars such as range of the prices and year of making, and the online auction service that will provide details about the cars to be auctioned.
Mr Al Jaziri said that in the meeting, the shop owners aired their views regarding the problems they were currently facing at the complex.
The municipality had sought their opinions, ideas, advice and suggestions regarding further enhancing the work in the complex, he said.
